The Soul of Me

The crackling embers, a fire glowing
Amidst the forest, an inner knowing
The trees, they always call to me
And when I'm with them, I can see
The deepest truth inside my soul,
The truest thing that makes me whole
It's just this calm that nature brings
It holds my heart and lets it sing
The simple presence of each moment,
And not a word needs to be spoken
Just the distant calls of birds,
The secret whispers of the woods
A beauty richer than any gold
The voices of the trees, young and old
To let us witness such a peaceful grace
To let us see her pretty face
Is such an honor in itself
For Earth will never need our help
But she knows how much we need hers
We only get what we deserve
So here I relish in her glory
Soaking in her silent story
'Cause we are just two energies
The soul of her, the soul of me.
